Josefina Santos is a Colombian photographer and director based in Brooklyn, NY. Blending compelling portraits, fashion photographs, and documentary work, she’s developed a personal style that is expressive, authentic, and bright.
Throughout her practice, Josefina puts an unparalleled emphasis on creating connections. She strives to build an intimate and collaborative space with her subjects that captures authentic emotions and celebrate their personal identities. Humanity is at the center of her work.
Josefina continues to evolve as an artist and is more recently working on publishing her first monograph, Sucre. A body of work created in her mother’s hometown of Sincelejo, Colombia exploring themes of cultural memory, place, immigration, and identity.
She’s photographed iconic figures and celebrities such as Serena Williams, Bad Bunny, Penelope Cruz, Naomi Watts, Gloria Estefan, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sydney Sweeney among others.
